Announcing the Top Six Pre-Competition EcoCAR Teams!

At 7:00 AM, teams were already standing at the gates to the GM Desert Proving Ground ready to get into the pits and start working on their vehicles, hoping to pass Safety/Tech and other qualifying events before the end of the day. The competition begins now!

At last night’s Skit Night, the teams pulled out all the stops for their best Air Band performances. The Organizers did a rendition of “Don’t Stop Believing” from the popular show Glee. The winning team skit was performed by the University of Waterloo, who made a cardboard “EcoCAR” and lip synced songs about their experience building the car and working with their dSPACE simulator. A crowd favorite was from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, who reenacted the famous Saturday Night Live skit with Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze as Chippendales dancers. Check out the photo below and look for video tomorrow!
