Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has been involved in Advanced Vehicle Technology Competitions since the beginning of EcoCAR: The NeXt Challenge in 2008. The team has engineering, business, and communications objectives with a broad range of students pursuing degrees in engineering, business, communication, aviation maintenance science, and space operations. Embry-Riddle brings a very unique perspective to EcoCAR 3 due to its strong aviation heritage, once being dubbed the "Harvard of the Sky" by TIME Magazine. Because of this, the team dedicates time to aerodynamic research and informing the public of the benefits of creating an aerodynamically-conscious vehicle.
