Happy 100th Birthday, Chevy!

Yesterday EcoCAR 2 headline sponsor General Motors celebrated the 100th anniversary of Chevrolet. We congratulate Chevy on a century of automotive innovation and hope the next 100 years is even more exciting!

Chevy, which today is the fourth-largest automotive brand on the planet, was founded on November 3, 1911 by racer Louis Chevrolet and GM founder William Durant. The brand made a name for itself with some of the most recognizable cars of the 20th century and is now known for the expressive design and fuel-efficiency of its vehicles.

For EcoCAR 2: Plugging In to the Future, GM will donate a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu to each competing team. Competitors will spend the next three years redesigning the Malibu to be more efficient and eco-friendly.
