Introducing the McMaster Engineering EcoCAR 3 Team

Words by Bryan Mason, Communications Manager for McMaster Engineering EcoCAR 3

McMaster University is proud to be participating in EcoCAR 3; a North America’s premier collegiate-level automotive engineering competition.  EcoCAR 3 is challenging teams from 16 North American universities to re-engineer a Chevrolet Camaro into a hybrid-electric vehicle while maintaining the muscle and performance associated with the iconic ‘Camaro’ marque.  As university students, being given the opportunity to work alongside the US Department of Energy, General Motors, and other major sponsors on a vehicle as iconic as the Camaro is truly a one-of-a-kind educational experience.

In this video, our team members share McMaster Engineering EcoCAR 3’s goal of building upon the university’s reputation as an outstanding technical school and academic leader in the development of advanced vehicle technology.  Our team understands the obligation that we have as future professionals to promote sustainable transportation through community outreach, experiential learning, and real-world experience.  Learn more about how our team intends to electrify a muscle car revolution and bring about a new era in green automotive technology.
