On Feb. 4, the engineering, management and communications teams of the EcoCAR 3 competition were granted the opportunity to finally meet through the Left Brain Meets Right Brain mixer. Brittany Galloway, the communications manager, Travis Foust the engineering manager and Kaylie Crosby, the project manager introduced themselves and their teams during the mixer.
Following the introductions, the three teams played an icebreaker game to get to know each other better. “It was great and beneficial being able to meet new people who play such a large role in making this project successful,” Abigail Gwarjanski said. “Our entire communications team was amazed by the work the engineers are able to do, and it was impressive listening to the engineering side of the project.”
The various roles range from art and creativity to mathematics and analysis, but together, the team is a collective whole and an entire brain. In the future, the team will have more events that bring the three parts of the project together to promote teamwork and to create professional relationships.
EcoCAR 3 is challenging 16 North American university teams to redesign a Chevrolet Camaro to reduce its environmental impact, while maintaining the muscle and expected performance. EcoCAR 3 utilizes hundreds of highly skilled engineers, business leaders and communicators who will bring their enthusiasm and ingenuity into the American work force.
