Meet the EcoEagles of Embry-Riddle

Blog and video by Calvin Baker, Communication Manager for Embry-Riddle

We are the Embry-Riddle EcoEagles. We hail from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. Embry-Riddle has a strong aviation heritage, being founded in 1926 as a flight school in Ohio. This university has now expanded to higher education programs in piloting, engineering, communications, business, and many more. The EcoEagles have been participating in Advanced Vehicle Technology Competitions since 2008 with EcoCAR: the NeXt Challenge. The team benefited from the hands-on experience EcoCAR provides by obtaining jobs and internships. Now EcoCAR 3 has begun with the Chevrolet Camaro as the platform. The team will re-engineer the vehicle in addition to promoting a hybrid muscle car to the public. With all of this experience and the knowledge provided by Embry-Riddle, the EcoEagles are ready to take this competition to the next level.
