Building on the foundation set by EcoCAR 2, the University of Washington (UW) EcoCAR 3 team is excited to participate in its second Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition. The team, made up of undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of majors, is larger than ever before and broken down into seven sub teams: mechanical, electrical, controls, modeling and simulation, project management, communications, and business. Presented with the challenge of re-designing, implementing, promoting, and refining a Chevrolet Camaro, these sub teams will collaborate to produce a vehicle that meets the goals of both consumer acceptability and reduction in its environmental impact.
With UW’s background in transportation technology and environmental science, as well as the dedication of a variety of students and faculty, the team plans to elevate its level of team success and establish UW at the forefront of green vehicle technology development.
