MSU EcoCAR Team Speaks with Sorority Women

The Mississippi State EcoCAR team recently participated in the 2010 Dorothy Garrett Martin Lectureship in Values and Ethics event hosted by the Delta Lambda chapter of the Delta Gamma sorority.

The event’s key speaker was Blake Mycoskie, the founder and chief shoe giver of TOMS shoes. Mycoskie is a successful, socially responsible entrepreneur. While most famous for his popular line of shoes, Mycoskie is also an advocate for hybrids and vehicle safety. As the founder of Drivers Ed Direct, an online program that teaches young people how to drive hybrids, Mycoskie was a great person to team up with to help spread the news about EcoCAR.

Hundreds of sorority women passed by the team’s EcoCAR vehicle as they gathered at MSU’s auditorium to hear Mycoskie speak. Before the event, the team had the opportunity to talk to several young women who expressed an interest in purchasing a hybrid SUV in the near future.

Meeting Blake Mycoskie and getting people interested in green vehicle technology made it a very successful event!
