Earlier this week, the Mississippi State (MSU) EcoCAR team finished up two weeks of pre-Finals emissions testing on its vehicle. During the Spring Workshop at the EPA, the team learned more about the behavior of their catalytic reduction emissions system, and they have used this information to improve the control strategy of the system.
The MSU team utilized a four wheel chassis dynamometer at the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS), as well as an emissions test bench to optimize the control strategy. This work ensures that the MSU EcoCAR is as eco-friendly as possible.
The team is working hard to make last-minute adjustments before Competition Finals in June, including light-weighting the vehicle to improve acceleration and fine-tuning the custom-built infotainment system to improve consumer acceptability.
