Students and organizations across the country recently celebrated Odyssey Day, the national event dedicated to alternative fuel vehicles. Wayne State University’s EcoCAR 2 team hosted an event on their campus with the local Detroit area Clean Cities Coalition. The event took place in Gullen Mall, the busiest crossing ground on campus.
The WSU EcoCAR 2 and Clean Cities Coalition collaboration event was able to reach out to about 100 Wayne State students, but about 300 students saw and passed through the event that day.
Odyssey day shirts, bags, pens and notepads were available for students if they took time to complete a short informational quiz. The team was able to present five different vehicles on campus that ran on alternative fuels. Students were required to go to one of the six vehicles and ask questions to get the answers. Numerous students were engaged in the activity and excited to learn about the importance of Odyssey Day.
