In collaboration with the Ohio State Office of Energy and Environment and Ohio State’s Center for Automotive Research, the Ohio State EcoCAR 2 team hosted the first ever Ohio State Student Motorsports Day at the Ohio Statehouse as part of the team’s Year Three Influencer Campaign. The highlight of the event was Representative Michael Stinziano, Representative Stephanie Kunze, and Senator Jim Hughes proclaiming the day OSU Motorsports Day.
All Ohio State Student Motorsports teams and their vehicles (EcoCAR, Buckeye Current, Formula Buckeyes, Baja Buckeyes and Venturi Buckeye Bullet) were displayed on the plaza of the Statehouse. Members of the public, as well as Ohio General Assembly members, had the opportunity to take an up-close look at the vehicles and meet the talented students who designed and built them.
“For being the first ever Student Motorsports Day, the event was very successful!” said Sarah Jadwin, the Ohio State team’s Communications Manager. “It was a fun event to plan and an even better event to attend. It is great to have the support of the Ohio General Assembly, especially Representative Stinziano, Representative Kunze and Senator Hughes, who took the time today to present the teams with a House Commendation and a Senate Resolution.”
The team would like to thank the Ohio State Center for Automotive Research and the Office of Energy and Environment for helping plan this successful event! More photos of the event can be found here.
