During the Year One Fall Workshop, students and advisors have the opportunity to take part in STAR-CCM+ training with CD-adapco instructor Chaitanya Ghodke.
Serving as an introduction to CD-adapco’s Enterprise-Wide software solution, the goal of the training is to equip EcoCAR 2 students and advisors with a firm understanding of the basic principles of computational fluid flow and heat transfer analysis, as delivered in STAR-CCM+.
Teams will experience a gradual well-structured course that reflects the major processes developed in STAR-CCM+. Students and advisors will use the software, hands-on, to begin their own simulations after instruction through tutorials and lectures. Using this structured approach, teams will leave the training ready to address common numerical engineering challenges using STAR-CCM+.
The STAR-CCM+ training session is most suitable for engineers or analysts that are new to CD-adapco software or computational fluid dynamics in general.
STAR-CCM+ is just one of the many systems and tools EcoCAR 2 competitors will gain professional training in during the Fall Workshop, which runs from October 5-9 at General Motors Powertrain facilities in Pontiac, Michigan. Other sponsors offering sessions at the Fall Workshop will include MathWorks, dSPACE, A123 Systems, Freescale, AVL Powertrain Engineering, Snap On Tools, ETAS, Siemens, Vector and Woodward.
