In Year Two, RHIT EcoCAR 2 was able to team up with competition sponsor Clean Cities to collaborate on many influential events. Earlier this year, the team joined forces with the Greater Indiana Clean Cities Coalition to take part in the 10th annual Indiana Legislator Luncheon and Alternative Fuels & Technologies Expo. The event, which was held at the Indiana State House in Indianapolis, was established to “bring Indiana’s green transportation industry to state leaders.” Indiana Rep. Alan Morrison, and State Senator Tim Skinner were two of many legislators in attendance.
The consensus of the expo was to promote the implementation of “fuels and technologies that reduce our dependence on foreign oil and are stimulating green job growth in Indiana.” The team had the opportunity to meet with state legislators to express the value of EcoCAR 2 and green technology.
Communication Manager Ashley Kronsell stated, “It was great being able to share the innovative values of Rose-Hulman and represent EcoCAR 2 at an event with the top leaders of our state. Rose-Hulman and numerous eco-friendly organizations across Indiana were able to come together and share the going green initiative. As a team, our goal is to reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions and with the help from Clean Cities, we have been able to express to Legislators the importance of this issue state-wide.”
The collaboration between Greater Indiana Clean Cities Coalition and Rose-Hulman EcoCAR 2 has created an influential partnership to encourage the use of innovative technology and alternative fuel state-wide.
