More than 16 competition-level sponsors displayed exhibits in booths full of information about their companies and examples of the products they make. These sponsors include General Motors, MathWorks, California Air Resources Board, Freescale, dSPACE, AVL Powertrain Engineering, Siemens, ETAS, Transportation Research Center, BOSCH, GKN Driveline, CD-adapco, CrossChasm, Proterra and Ricardo. The evening gave students a chance to thank the sponsors for their generous support throughout the year and to speak with them about employment opportunities. As the semester draws to a close for most teams, some EcoCAR 2 students will be graduating soon and many have already accepted positions with sponsors of the competition.
Exemplifying the success of the competition, some of the representatives from sponsoring companies were past Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition graduates. Several expressed the excitement they felt to be returning to see the new competition in progress and to have the opportunity to recruit current students.
