A long-time supporter of the EcoEagles, the Daytona International Speedway welcomed the engineers onto its track to complete a round of tests. The purpose of these tests was to compile data of the signals transmitted through the stock vehicle, to help determine which signals team members needed to replicate in the redesigned series plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.
The team of engineers tested three aerodynamic modifications: the removal of side mirrors, addition of side skirts and the addition of wheel covers. In addition to the aerodynamic tests, the car also underwent the following tests:
- Anti-Lock Braking
- Wide Open Throttle
- Coast Down Test
- Vehicle Technical Specifications
- Vehicle Efficiency Range
